Community Impact
Nearly every family in the community has been touched to some degree by the Bergholz Community Foundation, examples are:
EMS, VFD or police protection, Scholarship recipients, children that attend the Edison Local School District or Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp. Anyone who has gone to the playground, played at the ballfield or visited the community park. Anyone that has enjoyed the banners and flowers on 2nd street, any child that has attended a church youth program, VBS or Sunday School. Anyone that has received medical services at our medical building, gone to a food pantry or attained help from the Christian Emergency Fund. If you attended the Bergholz 4th of July celebration, Thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant, or light-up night, you have been touched by the BCF.
By June 2023 we will have funded over $2,000,000 in grants.

Major Community Projects
Bergholz VFD & EMS
Multiple Matching Fund projects for the Bergholz VFD & Bergholz EMS to purchase vehicles and equipment.
Surveillance & Police Protection
Numerous distributions to support police protection & surveillance increasing safety within the village.
Medical Building
Medical Building – providing medical care to the community, just recently added Counseling Services.
Scholarships
Over 250 scholarships to date, as well as an Endowed Scholarship at EGCC.
- Generator, located at the VFD, providing an emergency warming/cooling shelter in the event of a power outage.
- Defibrillators throughout the high school.
- John Gregg “Coats for Kids”, now every child at John Gregg receives a hooded sweatshirt.
- Fully funded the John Gregg "Positive Behavior Incentive Program”.
- Purchased the curriculum for the new Daktronics video board at the high school football field.
- Bleed kits in all schools and training.
- Built and maintain a community park in Bergholz.
- Fully funded the “Worker’s Food Program” at the N/E Jefferson County Food Pantry.
- Covid relief grants, including Elkhorn Valley Christian Service Camp.
- Fully funded “Project Hope”…. A series of events to bring hope, cheer and comfort to the community during the pandemic.
